Here are observations we've received from around Minnesota about the Soybean Aphid.

Wrote...Many fields in the Hutchinson area are over the threshold level. These fields are currently being sprayed. I have seen populations over 1000, but many fields are hanging around or above the threshold level.

Wrote...Most fields are at or above threshold levels, and we are in the process of treating them. Very few fields do not require treatment.

Wrote...Aphid numbers continue to increase very slowly in a larger number of fields. Whole field averages are around 15-30 aphids/plant, with higher pressure on some edges.

Wrote...Some fields have plants with 200-500 aphids per plant. Some fields are being treated, but it seems to be spotty as of now.

Wrote...Aphid populations have stayed in the 20-40 range per plant. Field boarders are in the 50-150 range. No applications have been made, but we are ready to go if we need to.

Wrote...Random pockets of aphids scouted on 07/05/06 north of Myrtle MN. Looks like populations just moved in. 2-5 aphids per plant

Wrote...Borders of fields are showing the most pressure as well as a few spots within the fields. I have found a scattered few plants with 200-300 aphids per plant but only in tiny areas. No fields treated in this area, but applicators are ready to go.

Wrote...I have observed scattered plants with 20-70 aphids per plant. So far only on the boarders of the fields have any aphids around here.
